Fender Stratocaster guitars are in all probability one of the most well recognized guitars around. When legends like Eric Clapton and Jim Hendrix are playing them it’s got to tell you and me something.

Nevertheless, not all Fender Stratocasters are equal. Like anything, you get what you pay for. If you are in the marketplace to purchase a Fender, I suggest before you decide on an impulse purchase read the rest of this report.

Essentially there are three levels of Fender Strats and I’ll introduce them here for your benefit, beginning with the very best first.

1. American Made Stratocaster

You can’t beat the Good Old American made Stratocaster. The quality is brilliant, and can’t be paired. However choice comes with a price. You can plan on paying more than $450 for a good used American Fender Stratocaster. A Brand-new one is, yes, over a grand. There is however a big difference when playing this guitar from the others. Plainly the US made Fender’s are King since they are build up from Alder wood rather than some inexpensive woods.

2. Mexican Made Stratocaster

Now if you don’t have the money to rush and buy a US Strat, then the following is the best alternative to aim for… a Mexican Stratocaster, also called the Standard Strat. Well, these babies rock and roll my friend they are great!!! Actually, you could pick up a second-hand Mexican Strat for around $250-$400. Although the Mexican it’s not the US version, it is still a fantastic guitar.

3. The Chinese Madre Stratocaster

Last is the Chinese Fender Stratocaster. These sell roughly for $125 give or take a couple of bucks. When purchasing a Chinese guitar, think that you get what you pay for.

It is not that such a guitar won’t work however, the Chinese made model is nowhere near in caliber that of the USA model or even the Mexican Stratocaster.

Unless you are really strapped on cash, go and do some search at least for the Mexican model Fender. Naturally, the US Stratocaster is the supreme model but, some of the times this is not a reality for everybody. What is my humble opinion? At least GO for the Mexican Fender Stratocaster.

My favorite is Fender 62 Jazzmaster Electric. It does Rock and it is inexpensive too. First introduced at the 1958 NAMM show, the uniquely contoured body of the Jazzmaster incorporates a snappy 25-1/2 in. scale length with warm-sounding pickups.
